A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan.

Simply put.
I love this picture. And I love my husband. Today, more than yesterday. Now, more than ever. He's still pulling me, after all we've been through. I hope he never stops.
I'm not your typical army wife, and my husband isn't your typical soldier. In fact, we hardly fit the bill at all. But somehow we've ended up here, at 21 and 24 years old, living the patriot's dream.
July, 2010, my husband left for a year in Afghanistan. Follow me through the months and see how life changes during our first deployment together.
